Terms and Conditions

Reservations

A non-refundable deposit of $150 per person is required at the time of booking to hold your reservation. The deposit is fully refundable if we are unable to confirm your request. However, if subsequent to our receipt of our deposit, you instruct us to cancel your reservation, $150.00 per person, of this deposit will be withheld as a transaction fee. Final payment for all invoiced services is due 45 days prior to departure (additional restrictions apply if a cruise or yacht charter is included in your itinerary). Full payment is due at the time of booking for reservations made within 45 days of the date of departure. Prices quoted include a 3.5% discount assuming payment will be in the form of cash or agency check. The discount is forfeited if payment is made by credit card.

Late Reservations

Reservations requested within 30 days of travel require full payment plus a non- refundable fee of $50 per person due to extraordinary expenses such as fax and special handling services. For reservation requests within 7 days of departure, additional fees may apply. Payments received within 14 days of travel must be in the form of certified or cashiers check.

Cancellations or Modifications

For each change made after your original booking request, a service charge of $25 per booking applies. If final documents have already been prepared an additional $100 will apply. After your international airline tickets have been written, any changes in airline routing or travel dates may result in substantial penalties being assessed by the airline. After your international airline tickets have been written, any changes in airline routing or travel dates, more than 45 days before departure will be refunded in full, less a $100 per person processing fee, plus any applicable fees for modifications. For cancellations received within 45 days of departure, any fees assessed by hotels, land operators or airlines will be charged along with a $150 per person processing fee. The processing fee increases to $200 per person for cancellations received within 7 days of departure. Special cancellation and modification policies applies for itineraries including the Club Med or one of our cruise or charter programs. We suggest that you read this section carefully. Additional and far more restrictive policies may apply for travel between December 15 and
January 6.

Documents Required

U.S. and Canadian citizens must have a valid passport, citizens of other countries should consult their consulate. It is solely the passengerís responsibility to ensure that all documents needed are complete and current.

Tour Planning

All prices quoted in this web site are in U.S. dollars and include costs associated with planning, communication, administration and operation, and as such, an itemization of costs will not be provided under any circumstances.

Included Features

All itineraries (except Sailing Charters and the Aranui, or when noted) include round trip economy class airfare from Los Angeles via scheduled airlines as noted, inter-island transportation as per itineraries, round trip hotel transfers and baggage handling by private car, mini-van, local conveyance or motor coach. Accommodations including currently known government room taxes are included based upon two people sharing a twin bedded room or bungalow with private bath and/or shower. All meals are included on Tetiaroa and at the Kia Ora Sauvage on Rangiroa. Sightseeing and other meals are included as specified for each itinerary.

Airfares

All tour packages in this web site are based upon clients travelling in economy class from Los Angeles as specified on each itinerary. All package costings are based upon Maeva Tours providing the air tickets. Should travel be on airlines other than as specified, package costs may vary. Fares used require that tickets be issued in advance and have substantial penalties should your itinerary be modified or cancelled after the tickets are written. Domestic travel within French Polynesia is included. Special add-on fares may be available from other cities.

Your International Flight: (we can only sell tickets departing from Los Angeles to Tahiti and return):
- If you come from Europe or the Middle East, you need to buy your own air ticket from your city to Los Angeles where you will then take our flight to Tahiti. All flights to Tahiti start and end in Los Angeles (except once a week to Oakland/San Francisco).
- If you come from South America, you can go through Los Angeles or buy your ticket from Santiago to Tahiti. We will provide all the arrangements from your arrival in Tahiti.
- If you come from Asia or Australia, you can buy your ticket from Tokyo to Tahiti of fly through New Zealand to Tahiti. We will provide all the arrangements from your arrival in Tahiti.

Refunds

Refunds for unused accommodations, meals, transfers, tours or other services cannot be made unless such request is accompanied by a signed statement from the specific hotel, driver or tour operator stating that such a refund is in order. We must receive written applications for refunds within 30 days of the tourís termination or the refund request cannot be considered. Under no circumstances will refunds be made for accommodations, meals or services used. No refund will be given in whole or in part for unused days on a cruise or yacht charter.

Not Included:

Costs of passports or visa fees, excess baggage charges, costs of a personal nature such as laundry or beverages, U.S. and foreign airport taxes and fees (currently approximately $52 and subject to change without notice) and local bed taxes are not included.

Valuable Insurance Protection:

An optional travel insurance plan offered by Travel Guard International is strongly recommended and is available with all of Maeva Tours's tour packages.

Protection of Funds

Maeva Tours is registered as a seller of travel with the Attorney General of the Sate of California pursuant to Section 17550 of the California Business and Professions Code, under registration #2067021-40. Registration as a seller of travel does not constitute approval by the State of California. All customers' deposits and payments are secured in Maeva Tours' clients deposit account.

Consumer Disclosure Notice

The contract between tour participants and Maeva Tours is made and entered into in San Diego County, CA. Any controversy or claim between a tour participant and Maeva Tours which cannot be amicably settled must be litigated either in a state court in and for San Diego, County, CA or in the U.S. District court for the Central District of CA and shall be governed by the laws of California. Maeva Tours and each tour participant expressly waives the right to a jury trial and agrees that legal proceedings, if any, must be filed within one year following the date of tour completion. The payment of the required deposit or any partial or full payment for a reservation on a tour shall constitute consent to all provisions stated in this web site. These provisions are hereby incorporated by reference in this Disclosure Notice, and passengers are advised to take note of them.

Responsibility Clause

Maeva Tours, a California travel company located in San Diego, is the principle tour operator and is responsible to the participants for all arrangements and for all tour services and accommodations offered in these tours. Maeva Tours, itís agents, servants and employees, act only as agents for the passenger in regard to travel, whether by road, air, sea, or by any mode of transportation or local conveyance, and assumes no liability for personal injury, property damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity incurred by any person or tour participant arising out of the negligence of any direct or supplemental air carrier, hotel or person engaged in conveying the passenger, providing rental cars or rendering any of these services or accommodations being offered in these tours; nor shall Maeva Tours be responsible for any injuries, death, damages, loss or delay in any means of transportation or by reason of any event beyond the actual control of Maeva Tours. Any such losses or expenses will have to be borne by the passenger as tour rates provide for arrangements only as stated in the final itinerary. Maeva Tours expressly discourages the use of motor scooters or similar powered cycles. The right is reserved to decline to accept or to retain any person as a member of a trip, or to cancel a trip in whole or part due to circumstances beyond the control of Maeva Tours. The right is reserved to substitute hotels of similar category or change schedules without prior notice should circumstances so demand. In the event of a change in the itinerary necessitated by factors or conditions beyond the actual control of Maeva Tours, no refund can be made nor will credit be allowed, provided that in the event of such change, Maeva Tours shall provide accommodations and services of comparable quality and standards as set forth in this web site. Prices quote in the web site are in U.S. dollars and are based upon current tariffs and exchange rates known as of August 1,1999 and are subject to adjustment without prior notification in the event of changes therein, except that once full payment has been received, quoted prices are guaranteed. Any such changes will be passed on to the passenger in all other cases. Passengers electing to take advantage of sporting equipment offered by the ships, yachts, local operators or hotels do so at their own risk. Baggage is at ownerís risk entirely. The airlines concerned and their agents and affiliates are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on board their aircraft. The passenger ticket in use by said airlines, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines and purchaser of these tickets and/or passenger. The schedules contained herein are subject to change without notice.
